Friday's Fashion Fallout: wearing my grief on my sleeve (literally)

This Friday's Fashion Fallout item is an Alzheimer's Association hoodie in their trademark forget-me-not purple. Ah, it's purple and it reminds me of Gram. I'm screwed already.

If the whole point of wearing this was to be a walking advertisement for the Alzheimer's Association, why didn't they design it so that you could actually see their logo?

Hey kids, here's a marketing lesson: your slogans need to make sense! Putting the word "move" on a sleeve with no context is just silly. Then again, maybe it's just a sign that they're using donation money for research instead of marketing.

The only move I'm going to make is to take this thing to the thrift shop.

The Reckoning

I'm going to leave this one out of the reckoning this week. It's financially confusing because some of the money from the jacket did go to a cause I support, but some of it didn't and I don't know how much. I also had to purchase a shirt for my new volunteer job, which will take the place of this in my closet.

  2. I like the purple and I like that it has long sleeves... I mean sleeves that go all the way past the wrist. I don't know if I'm part orangutang or what, but so many long sleeved things aren't long enough. Plus that is lightweight. It would make a good toss in the back of the car or under the desk at work emergency jacket. I'm not helping any, am I? I wouldn't keep it though because it is form fitting. I'm not a fan of form fitted jackets, plus the logo makes no sense. Off to the junk heap with you, Mr. Purple Jacket!

  3. Have you ever heard of the "six items or less" wardrobe? You only get to own 6 items or less and they need to get you through whatever situations you do (work, play, cleaning, working out, dining out, parties, etc.). I found it to be highly fascinating. At once point in my life-teen years-I actually owned only about 10 articles of clothing. I don't remember it being a burden except to stay on top of laundry. I think that would be awesome nowadays, no long closet rummage in the morning.... that said, I can't do it. I probably own 6 hoodies alone and can't bare to part with even one of them. Plus if I only had 6 articles of clothing sure as heck I'd dump salad dressing all over one outfit and be screwed. It is nice to dream though.
